Code of Conduct
Expectations for participants in KuberCoin community spaces.
Purpose
KuberCoin community spaces — the public forum, chat, source patch reviews, and any in-person event held under the project name — exist so that anyone interested in the protocol can participate on equal footing. This document describes the behaviour expected of every participant and the process the conduct committee follows when those expectations are not met.
Scope
This code applies in every official venue:
- forum.kuber-coin.com threads, comments and direct messages between forum members.
- Patch review threads at open.kuber-coin.com.
- Chat channels operated by the project.
- Public meetups, talks, working groups and other gatherings labelled as KuberCoin events.
It also applies whenever a participant explicitly represents the project in a public space.
Expectations
Participants are expected to:
- Treat other participants with respect, including those who disagree.
- Focus criticism on technical content rather than the people who produced it.
- Assume that other participants are acting in good faith until evidence proves otherwise.
- Make space for newcomers and explain context where it is missing.
- Accept correction gracefully when a mistake is pointed out.
The following behaviours are not acceptable:
- Personal attacks, insults, or sustained disruption of discussion.
- Harassment of any kind, including unwelcome sexual attention, doxing, and threats of violence.
- Discriminatory language or imagery related to race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion or nationality.
- Publishing private information about other participants without their explicit consent.
- Promoting illegal activity through KuberCoin venues.
Reporting
Reports of suspected violations go to the conduct committee at
conduct@kuber-coin.com. Reports are handled
confidentially. Include as much context as is comfortable to share —
links, screenshots, transcripts and the names of any witnesses help
but are not required. The committee acknowledges every report within
five business days.
Enforcement
After review, the committee may take one or more of the following actions, scaled to the severity and pattern of the behaviour:
- Private clarification — a written explanation of why the behaviour was unacceptable.
- Public correction — a public note distancing the project from the behaviour, with the participant named only when necessary.
- Temporary suspension from one or more KuberCoin venues for a defined period.
- Permanent ban from KuberCoin venues for severe or repeated violations.
The committee documents every decision and shares the rationale with the affected participants. Decisions can be appealed once, in writing, within thirty days. Appeals are reviewed by the full committee and decided by majority.
Committee composition
The conduct committee is staffed by at least three contributors who are not currently in a leadership role over the project's technical direction. Membership rotates yearly. Conflicts of interest are declared and the affected member recuses from the matter.
